Iohannes Dei gratia rex Angl(ie) etc omnibus comitibus, baronibus, iustic(iis) etc salutem.  Noueritis nos recepisse in manum, custodiam et protectionem nostram abbatem et canonicos C’ et domum illorum, et ideo vobis precipimus quod homines, terras, res et possessiones suas protegatis, custodiatis et manuteneatis tamquam res nostras dominicas, non inferentes eis vel ab aliquo inferri permittentes iniuriam, molestiam aut grauamen, et si quis eis in aliquo forisfecerit, id eis sine dilatione emendari faciatis.  Teste H(uberto) Cant’ archiepiscopo cancellario nostro apud Meideneston’ xiii. die Iunii.
