Confirmation of a charter issued by King John when he was count of Mortain, granting Canonsleigh Priory the rents of four men in Allison, namely half a mark from Osbert of Allison, 6 shilings and 10 pence from Edwin of Allison, 30 pence from Elliot of Allison, and 32 pence from Alfred Stiward, and also 16 pence from the waste of the same vill. Witnessed by William bishop of London, John bishop of Norwich, Geoffrey fitz Peter earl of Essex, Robert of Thornham. Given by the hand of Simon archdeacon of Wells at Porchester, 10 May in the third year of the reign.
